Resultados Publicados en Vástagos Cortos

Existen muchos vástagos cortos en el mercado y se han introducido recientemente un número elevado, de los cuales aún no se conoce el resultado a largo plazo. Respecto de las prótesis de vástago corto con más experiencia, se han publicado supervivencias a 5 y 10 años del 98,2%.

Sin embargo con determinados modelos de prótesis (como ha ocurrido con el vástago ESKA), se han publicado fracasos a corto plazo y cirugías de recambio dificultosas. Por ello es recomendable que hable extensamente con su cirujano sobre el modelo en cuestión que se le implantará y los datos publicados de supervivencia de ese implante.

Como se puede observar en la imagen, son prótesis de menor tamaño a las convencionales, por lo que la invasión en el hueso es menor. Con la técnica adecuada esto implica a priori una cirugía más rápida y menos invasiva.
